RYAN SEACREST: VOYAGE WILL TAKE PLACE OF LL COOL J ON “ROCKIN ‘EVE”

NEW YORK (AP) – ABC had to juggle scheduling the special ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve ‘tonight after LL Cool J tested positive for COVID-19. Host Ryan Seacrest said LL was supposed to be the performer just before midnight in New York City. Seacrest says Journey will take over this niche. Seacrest says he’s used to working live, so things always change at the last minute. ABC says Chloe dropped out of the show tonight as well, but no reason was given. Other artists include AJR, Avril Lavigne, Walker Hayes, Daddy Yankee and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

COUNTRY MUSIC IS SCREENED ON “BIG BASH OF NASHVILLE”

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) – Dierks Bentley had nothing against New Year’s Eve celebrations in New York City, but they never felt very “country” to him. Bentley says there might be a country band, which generally seems to be freezing and not having fun. Bentley will be one of the performers on CBS’s “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash” television special tonight. Bentley describes him as “all your favorite 50 country singers in one town, one show.” Other featured artists include Lady A, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Brooks and Dunn.

THOMAS RHETT WILL ENJOY THE WINTER CLASSIC

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Thomas Rhett and one of his daughters have different ideas on what to expect when Rhett performs at the NHL Winter Classic tomorrow. Rhett says in a video on social media that he anticipates a 4 degree high temperature, while his daughter can be heard saying it will be 400 degrees. Rhett will perform during the first intermission, as the St. Louis Blues visit the Minnesota Wild at Target Field in Minneapolis. The final team of the 2022 United States Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team will be announced during the second intermission. Dirty Honey filmed a performance of Prince’s song “Let’s Go Crazy” which will be used for TNT’s pre-game coverage.

LEANN RIMES, JIMMY ALLEN WILL ALLOW THE ROSE PARADE

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) – LeAnn Rimes will kick off the Rose Parade tomorrow in Pasadena, Calif., And Jimmie Allen will make the grand finale. Rimes will perform the song “Throw My Arms Around The World”. Allen will perform his song “Good Times Roll”.

MICK JAGGER REVEALS HOW HE GOT HIS CANDIDATE PHOTOS ON INSTAGRAM

WASHINGTON (AP) – You may have seen the Instagram photo in September that Mick Jagger posted of himself having a beer outside a bar in Charlotte, North Carolina, without anyone noticing . How did he do it? He was really standing outside the bar and no one noticed him. Jagger told the Washington Post that due to COVID rules during the Rolling Stones tour, he couldn’t enter the bar, but he could be outside. Since it was dark and uncrowded and he didn’t stop in a limo, no one realized it was him. Jagger posted another photo of himself relaxing on a Miami beach, but it lasted about a minute. Jagger says he got his photo, but he also “really went paparrazzi.”

MANDY MOORE RETURNS TO MUSIC AFTER THE “THIS IS US” FINAL

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Mandy Moore looks forward to the New Year due to the prospect of saying goodbye to one project and hello to another. The final season of “This Is Us” begins Tuesday on NBC and will end by the summer. At this point Moore is planning to release an album she made with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes. She says she also wants to do the tour she intended to start a week before the world was shut down two years ago because of COVID-19. Moore says it will be “the dream” of playing music every night and touring with her husband and son, Gus, who will be doing one in February.
