Amoth from Finland with Ensiferum’s Pekka Montin on vocals shares their third single “Traces In The Snow” from their upcoming album The Hour Of The Wolf which will be released on January 28, 2022.

“The ballad of the album. We are very happy with the result! I think a lot of people will like it even if they don’t listen to metal music elsewhere. Very strong lyrical content. I can’t wait for people hear it, ”adds Amoth lead guitarist and songwriter Tomi Ihanamäki.

Amoth is a melodic progressive heavy metal band with progressive elements from Helsinki, Finland. Their upcoming album The Hour Of The Wolf is a huge leap forward from their previous recordings Revenge (2016), Crossing Over (2011) and Wounded Faith (EP) (2008).

“This is by far our best album to date! Top performances from all musicians. Much better songwriting and production. This is not a fast food album. Some songs are quite complex so you have to probably more than one listen to really get in! ” comments Amoth guitarist and lead songwriter Tomi Ihanamäki.

Amoth’s roots are heavily grounded in ’80s heavy metal, but branch out in different directions with elements of progressive rock, thrash, and even jazz.

The new album again features Ensiferum’s Pekka Montin as lead singer and for the first time there are keyboards on an Amoth recording as well. Fans can expect some crazy vocals and virtuoso playing from everyone in the group. The nine songs are very diverse, taking sudden twists and turns into uncharted territory. Amoth even offers two Steve Vai / Joe Satriani style instrumentals on this new album with the tracks “Wind Serenade Part I” and “Wind Serenade Part II”.
