Cincinnati concert tickets on sale soon: Jacksons, Jeff Beck, more

One of the most recognizable families in music history is embarking on a tour this year, and luckily for us, Cincinnati is one of the cities where they will be playing. The Jacksons – made up of original members Jermaine Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jackie Jackson and Marlon Jackson – are bringing their famous dance moves and mega-hits to the Hard Rock Casino Ballroom in November. The Motown supergroup and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers have five No. 1 albums, 18 No. 1 hits, 17 top-10 albums and 17 top-40 singles.

Tickets will also go on sale this week for October shows by some legendary guitarists. Eight-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist and two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Beck will play Andrew J. Brady Music Center, and Robert Fripp, founding member of British progressive rock band King Crimson, is coming to the Madison Theater with its director and producer David Singleton. Fripp and Singleton’s tour is a “talking tour”, where the duo will answer questions from the audience.

The four-night arts and music experience Blink returns to Cincinnati in October and, alongside it, the UnderWorld Black Arts Festival, featuring Jarobi White, founding member of legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest. Jarobi disappeared from the group a few years ago to pursue a career in the kitchen, which led to him working in some of the best kitchens in New York. At the Woodward Theatre, the plates he turns won’t come from the kitchen, but the savory, warm, flavor-packed ensemble of upbeat sounds and grooves he dishes out will surely fill you up. Along with Jarobi is special guest Vince Fraser “The Artivist,” who brings his AfroFuturist screenings from London, England.
