What is an albino skunk and why does it have a music festival?

The popular music festival is named after the (almost) albino white skunks on the property where the Albino Skunk music festival, The SkunkFarm, takes place.

What started as a private event turned into an annual music festival open to the public in 1995. Then, in the spring of 2010, the Skunk Music Festival spawned a second event – The SpringSkunk Fest. Bluegrass, acoustics, rock fans and more now come together twice a year to enjoy live music and other festivities at this magical SkunkFarm in Greer.

Think of it as our very own local bluegrass themed Coachella! Only, it’s much more accessible, affordable, and you can sleep in your own bed after a shower every night if you want. Sure, weekend camping at the festival is the way to go, but the perk of being so close to home is that it gives you options.

Is the Albino Skunk Music Festival suitable for children?

Yes! He is!
The Albino Skunk Music Festival isn’t just kid-friendly; they welcome children! With special programming for children throughout the weekend, children can enjoy activities designed for them. Past children’s programming has included drive-in movies, children’s yoga, crafts, circus performers, and more.

What to expect at the 2021 Albino Skunk music festival

This year will be slightly different from previous years, whether you’ve been there before or this is your first foray into the Skunk Music Festival scene.

Weekend camping at the Skunk Music Festival

For a true immersive music festival experience, camping for the weekend is mandatory! Doors open at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, and campers are expected to be packed and go home by noon on Sunday. The festival has two options for those who want the experience of a full weekend.

The SkunkFarm camping map shows the layout of the two different camping options. The tent camping area is nearby and below the tree-lined areas on the map. The part of the SkunkFarm with trees is not open to car camping.

  • Car Camping costs $ 35 per vehicle when purchased online ($ 40 at the door). Campers must all have tickets for each day of the festival in addition to the all-inclusive rate per RV. Campsites cannot be reserved and the location is on a first come, first received basis.
There will be a “Quiet Zone” camping area located at the rear of the property, with noise and light regulations outside of opening hours. It is the best option for those who come with your children.
  • RV camping costs $ 90 per bundle when purchased online ($ 100 at the door) whether or not you have a reserved spot, which we highly recommend you do.
The map above shows the three different lots for RV and caravan camping.
*At time of posting, all Skunk Music Festival 2021 RV sites are showing SOLD OUT. You can email SkunkFarm to check if there is an overflow or arrive without a reservation to park in the general camping area (RV / Campers 25ft and under).

If you want to kick off the festivities and settle in before the music festival starts this year, the Skunk Music Festival has an Early Bird option. Campers can arrive as early as Wednesday if they have pre-booked their campsite online for an additional $ 20 at the door. The first campers should arrive at SkunkFarm between noon and dusk. No early camper will be allowed to enter after dark.

What Every Parent Wonders: Does Albino Skunk Music Festival Have Bathrooms

In addition to portable toilets and hand washing stations throughout SkunkFarm, there are one person toilets to the right of the stage. For campers there are two showers also located at the rear of the SkunkFarm property.

If you are participating with young children, I suggest you bring a potty training style portable toilet or a camping toilet with you to make things easier at the festival.
