Tom reveals cancer diagnosis
He went public with the devastating news after being remarkably quiet on social media in the weeks leading up to the announcement.
Tom first shared the news with OK! Magazine just before taking to Instagram to post a sweet photo of his family along with a long caption that read, “There’s no easy way to say this but unfortunately I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and I’m already on treatment. We decided after careful consideration that rather than hide and try to keep it a secret, we would do an interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way. .
Tom went on to say that although his family is “absolutely devastated”, they plan to “fight this all the way”.
He added: “We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and seek out all available treatment options. It’s going to be an uphill battle but with everyone’s love and support, we’re going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey.
During his interview with OK!Tom revealed he suffered a seizure in July 2020 and was put on a waiting list for an MRI, but just six weeks later suffered another more serious seizure while on a family trip in Norwich and was rushed to hospital.
After three days of testing he was diagnosed with cancer, but due to COVID restrictions his wife was not allowed in the hospital and he learned the tragic news on his own.
Rest in peace Tom.
