Pop Team Epic Reveals Season 2 Release Window

Pop Team Epic will soon be returning for a second season and has finally set a release window for the anime’s big comeback! Bkub Okawa’s original gag manga debuted one of the most memorable anime adaptations released in recent years. Few fans had any idea what to expect from the anime when it premiered on the Winter 2018 Anime Schedule, and it continued to confuse fans even further. Now, the series is finally returning with a second season of new episodes set to debut later this year.

First announced in the works with an expected release later this year, Pop Team Epic released a new special trailer for the second season during AnimeJapan 2022 which confirmed that the second season will arrive in October as part of the fall 2022 anime schedule. A concrete release date for the new season, the new season trailer brings back voice actor Shota Aoi as the time traveler he made an appearance in the first season finale. Teasing a whole new plot for Season 2, you can check out the trailer below:

It has yet to be revealed what type of voice talent, production team, or even studio is currently attached to the second season as of this writing. If the first season is anything to go by, fans should expect the unexpected here as there are still plenty of ways new episodes can surprise fans. This could even include voice cast shakeups, story shakeups, and more. But if you wanted to see what the series has to offer, there are plenty of ways to do it.

If you wanted to catch up Pop Team Epic ahead of the debut of the second series, you can now find the first season streaming with Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Funimation. The series is officially described as, “Raw, gross, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger than life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the big and small stars of Pop Team Epic! Bukubu Okawa’s Webcomic Panel is a comedy that will baffle you with its outlandish jokes and intense absurdity. Think you’re ready for these girls? Think again, F#%**er!”
