Spooktacular Victorian-Gothic ‘Tales from the Grimoire’ show scheduled at Black Lion on Halloween

Grimoire Tales will take place from 8pm on Halloween Day at the Black Lion on the High Street.

They will be guided by host Tom Morris through the horrors that lurk, beneath the thrilling narrative intertwined with music performed by local artists.

‘Tales from the Grimoire’ is presented by local band Argham, known for their progressive rock that incorporates a variety of the trio’s favorite genres.

This Halloween, the band will perform a Victorian-Gothic show narrated by Argham keyboardist Tom Morris, which is intercut with Argham’s own music and tunes from featured artists Sproose Moose and the Speedholes and Ian ‘Screamo’ Hayward.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Inspired by Tales from the Crypt and bearing similarities to the Twilight Zone, Tom’s Victorian Gentleman will lead audiences through the horrors around them in a narrative anthology.

“The music that will accompany this will be dark and thematic and the band have announced that new music will be presented for the very first time.

“Argham has quietly built up their following, taking part in the Beats for Ukraine charity event this summer, which saw them receive massive applause.

“Jamie ‘Sproose Moose’ Hayward will make an appearance wearing his own Victorian Gothic attire.

“He and the Speedholes will play an original set followed by Halloween-themed covers to have you shivering at the edge of your seat.

“Sproose Moose and the Speedholes are frequent players at the two open mic nights at Bridlington, and anyone familiar with those nights will recognize Sproose Moose’s welcoming personality and exciting style of play.

“Ian Hayward also joins these performers on stage, showcasing his own style of covers that have been popular with audiences at Bull and Sun, Queens and The Black Lion.

“Tales from the Grimoire will take place at 8pm on Halloween night at The Black Lion, High Street.

“Admission for all ages is free, although it may be advisable to keep children away or treat this event.”
